Lions Club of Caterham, Oxted & GodstoneORDINARY PEOPLE - AMAZING THINGS |
The Caterham, Oxted and Godstone Lions Club is part of Lions Clubs International, the world's largest voluntary service organisation which was launched in 1917.
COGs, as we call ourselves, has been serving the local community in the Tandridge area of Surrey since 1978 and formed the Tandridge Lions Talking Newspaper in 1981. COGs gives the opportunity for community-minded men and women to assist local individuals or groups, who have a need, by raising funds or providing community service activities. Funds are mainly provided for local deserving causes although the club regularly supports both Lions' and wider international appeals. Our local area includes the Surrey towns / villages of Caterham, Oxted and Godstone plus Limpsfield, Lingfield, Dormansland, Woldingham and Warlingham.
The club has provided and runs an 11 seat minibus for use by the local community. Anyone wishing to hire the minibus, for which a reasonable charge is made, should contact Angela Annenberg on 01342 893353.
The club currently consists of 32 men and women of all ages and from all walks of life. We meet once a month and also enjoy a lively list of social events. Membership is by invitation. So if you have time to spare to help others and want to have some fun along the way, contact : Club Secretary Lion Tony Skilbeck on 01883 345062, or e-mail us at coglions@lineone.net to arrange to come along and see how we work.
On the following page you can see examples of the ways in which we raise money and the various ways in which we serve our local community. The contacts page gives more details of who we are and where and when we meet.[Home Page] [Music Competition 2006] [Flanders and Swann Celebration] [Contact Us]
